Wow. That is all I can say to start off this blog.
Jessie J has blessed my ears with some of the most phenomenal vocals that I will hear in my lifetime. Jessie released R.O.S.E over a period of 4 days back in May and it was the most exciting 4 days of the year for me.
Jessie J has been my vocal idol for a number of years and she never fails to surprise me with her talent. This album is probably her best work as it very honest and down to earth. Also, her vocals are just out of this world! For me personally, there were 0 songs that I didn't like and I am happy to say that this is an album which I can listen to fully without skipping.
The album was released in 4 sections: Realisations, Obsessions, Sex and Empowerment where Jessie tells us her experiences with each of these words. The full album comes from the heart and she is truthful with all her fans.
My Top 3 songs off of this album were;
1. Four Letter Word
This is a song where Jess describes her health condition and sings about how it is going to be hard for her to have a baby. It is a very sensitive subject but she approaches it well and gives us a song of pure honesty and it's just brilliant. This is a topic I would never imagine to hear through song and her vocals were incredible on this tune.
2. Petty
I have never connected to a song as much in my life. This is a tune and should have been released as a single. It is catchy as again provides a message to fans saying that you should never take crap from anyone in your life and try to get out of toxic situations which aren't worth it.
This is just an amazing song with some fantastic vocals.
3. Dopamine
As soon as I heard this song, I felt a connection as I agreed with every word that was being sung into my ears. It tells us about the media and how the can put out false stories and how the public is addicted to this "drug" and how we thrive off this information thrown at us. Jess tells us how much it can affect those who false stories are about and how journalists and news teams can really be the evil of this generation.
My favourite section is definitely realisations as its the one I have on repeat the most.
I love all of them equally but that one is always my first choice.
I can't wait to see Jessie J live in November as part of her R.O.S.E Tour.
The excitement is already building.
Thanks for reading today!
