The last two weeks I went on a
cruise round the Mediterranean and also stayed in Alcudia for a week! This is a
blog talking about some of my favourite parts and events!
Day 1 - Palma, Majorca
Woo Hoo Cruise! More like No
Suitcase booo. What a start to our holiday! Our suitcases arrived in Palma but
officials never took our cage off the plane and have now landed in Sweden... I
could cry. I did cry ahah. I had so much frustration! This meant I had no
change of clothes from all my travel gear and I just felt defeated! I then had
to go shopping in Palma as TUI gave is 100 euros each... most of that went on
Spain’s expensive toiletries! So, I’m still left with no clothes that I want to
wear... The cruise ship seems nice as well as staff and I know it will only go
on to improve this week.
Day 2 - Day at Sea
This is pool day and it just didn’t
go ahead. The fam didn’t have any swimwear as Spanish sizes are confusing and I
don’t feel confident going in alone. So, we had a day of “Maryjane”. She is the
nicest bar staff worker I’ve ever met and kept bringing me more and more
alcohol. What more could I ask from this woman from the Philippines? Nothing
because I ended up not asking and she just got me completely steaming.
Cocktails are lovely, cider is lovely and vodka is vodka. Fantastic! We then
move in for dinner and of course it’s dress to impress night and we have no
clothes. The looks we were getting off these stuck-up folks were a disgrace.
I’m sorry my 10 Euro Spanish top doesn’t suit your standards! The show was soul
music and I was living for it! A wee bit of Michael Jackson and Boogie
Wonderland and I was away!
Books Completed: Leah on the
Offbeat by Becky Albertelli.
Day 3 - Palermo, Sicily
I had mixed feelings about Sicily
if I am honest as it just wasn’t what I had expected. There were some beautiful
sights around however most of it seemed to be botanical gardens which I have 0
interest in. It had your high-class shops like Prada and Gucci but most seemed
to be souvenir city! It was a nice walk about and the tour guide was really
cool! Also, I felt really ugly because everyone seemed to be stunning!
Tonight’s show was called Movies and it’s possibly one of the best cruise shows
I’ve sat through! They gave us sister act, Star Wars and Mary Poppins and I
loved it all! Fantastic.

Day 4 - Pompeii, Italy
I had high expectations and these
high expectations were met! The morning started by climbing an active volcano
called Mount Vesuvius which was an incredible experience! It was a bit of
morning exercise... I mean we totally cheated as a bus took us up 1000ft and we
walked the remaining 300ft but was brilliant exercise. The sights were
incredible and the just seeing the crater was awesome. There was even smoke
coming through the rock and I really enjoyed this experience. We then went to
the ancient city of Pompeii famously known as the city preserved from volcanic
ash back in 79AD. We started with some lunch where I completed an item which
has always been on my bucket list. I finally eat pizza in Italy. It was so
worth it! The sauce was gorgeous and the crusts were tasty. Just what I needed
after my volcanic walk. We then travelled into the preserved city of Pompeii. I
did not expect it to be so big as we never managed to complete the city as it
would take so many hours. The sights were incredible and the history was so
informative! The mosaics and the bathhouses were stunning as well as the
pillars and ancient ruins. This was a fantastic day.
Day 5 - Pisa, Italy
Today we arrived in Livorno port
and the choices were Pisa or Florence... You bet I made the family go to Pisa
just for my Leaning Tower Photo! Well... I got many! So many poses and people
and I was living for it. It was a beautiful place! We also had a comedian on
board this evening and he was hilarious! Loved every second of it!
Books Completed: The Manifesto on
How to Be Interesting by Holly Bourne
Day 6 - Villefranche, France
Going to be honest, I had never
heard of this place before today! My mum and I got a lifeboat over to the coast
and done some shopping in local shops and stopped for some colas multiple
times. The sea water was so clear and the beaches were beautiful! I came back
and Sunbathed and had some time in the pool. The show was called Cogs and it
was west end themed. It was fantastic!
Books Completed: Every Day by David
Levithan.
Day 7 - Palamos, Spain
Another day, another seaside town.
We stopped for a drink, a souvenir and an I’ve Cream! It was then the final
night on out ship and the show was called rockology! It was so good and it was
one of my favourites! We then had a farewell to my favourite wee Mary Jane who
supplied me with alcohol the full week! We ended the cruise with a final drink
in the pub on deck 6... I was drunk... again!
Books Completed: Trouble by Non-Pratt
Day 8-14 - Alcudia, Majorca - Week at
Hotel
We arrived at the hotel and I had mixed opinions! It seems nice enough but it’s not my favourite we
have been too over the years. The pool was nice and it’s placed on a beach so I
had a wee paddle. Food is... strange but they do tequila sunrise so I’m loving
that! The rest of the week was
fantastic! We had a night at Pirates Adventure in Magaluf where I was engulfed
into all the acrobatic tricks and dances. We eat out a few nights too.
Books Completed: The Sun is Also a
Star by Nicola Yoon, Flawed by Cecelia Ahern, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas,
The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson and One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M
McManus.
So overall, It was a fantastic holiday
and I would do it all over again. Prepare for a massive book blog for all 10 of
my holiday reads!
Thanks for Reading Today!
