Younger Now - Miley Cyrus - Album Review

Younger Now
Miley Cyrus
★★★★

Younger Now is the new album released on the 29th of September by Miley Cyrus who is possibly one of my favourite singers at this time. This is one of my most anticipated albums this year and I thought I would do a Track to track review as I did with Lana Del Rey back in July.

Track by Track Review

Younger Now - A really strong opening to the album. She's going back to her old music and I truly appreciate that. “No one stays the same” describes how much she has changed over the years and now she’s having the time of her life and feels “Younger Now”

Malibu - The first single released off this album and was my favourite song throughout summer. This has such a nice beat. It’s describing how she has come back to Malibu to find who she is and is telling the story of her and Liam Hemsworth's relationship. I love the chorus and really appreciate this song!

Rainbowland - Not going to lie. This is my favourite song off of the full album! I love the tune and the chorus is fantastic. I am so happy Dolly is in this too as her vocals and harmonies are just fantastic. This is all about how they can change the world and making it a better place to live for all. She sings about pushing judgement aside and this gives a really important message. This is just a fantastic song.

Week Without You - Singing about an Ex and how he would bring her down and how she has so much fun without him being there. She also describes how he’s made her cry and all I can say is... what a d**k. Who wants to make Miley Cyrus sad? I love the vibe to this song and I like the chorus. This song is too good.

Miss You So Much - She’s describing how she’s missing someone who she is still with. She doesn’t want to lose her love and wants to keep them close at all times. Her vocals in this song are amazing. She just keeps improving!

I Would Die For You - This song good and is just a little love song. I do prefer the verses rather than the chorus but that’s just my presence. I do have mixed feelings about this one but overall it’s okay.

Thinkin’ - I love the beat to this. This is the closest to Bangerz we get on this full album and it’s really catchy. Lots of repetition throughout and I can’t stop singing this as it gets stuck in my head after I listen to it! Love this track.

Bad Mood - I can’t lie, the first time I listened to this, I found it pretty mediocre compared to other tracks on the album, however after listening multiple times, I actually quite like it. I love the Ohs behind the chorus and it’s actually quite catchy. The hook is everything!

Love Someone - Her true vocals come through in this song but I just can’t get my head around it. This might be the track that doesn’t do it for me on this album. I’m just not a fan of the tune and how the words fit in the best. However, I love her backing harmonies and vocals.

She’s not him - I love this one. I just love how intimate it is. She’s showing her vulnerability. It’s all about how you can love someone but it’s never going to become a relationship because you are not the right person for her. Her vocals are amazing in this song and I’d love to see it performed live.

Inspired - The second single from the album which took me a couple of listens until I truly appreciated this one. This is all about her inspiration in her life. Her vocals are really good in this song. This surprisingly works well as the album closer even tho in my head I didn’t think it would. I just love her harmonies and again this is another vulnerable song and also the hook is amazing.

Overall Review

“Younger Now” by Miley Cyrus is an album which is a mixture of pop, rock and country and that just shows how talented she is with her music. I loved seeing the transition of this Miley and I absolutely adore this album. My favourites are Rainbowland, Malibu and Thinkin’. I loved how this album truly showcased her vocals, unlike Bangerz which seemed very much auto-tuned. This is the true Miley that I want to see. Two Words. Amazing Album.
