Three words that scar readers these days are...
A Book Block!
I myself have suffered many book blocks and it is horrible... I want to read books but I just cannot keep focus. So I thought I would share some books or tips that have helped me get out of a book block before.
1. Try reading a book which is from a popular series, this may help as you make become so enticed that you can't stop reading and want to continue until you've read all books available by that author with those exciting storylines and amazing characters. For me, The Hunger Games helped me as it really sparked my reading again after having enough and of course, technology took over.
2. If you are reading a lot of fiction books and you just cannot read anymore, try to read a Non-Fiction. This could surround a topic you find particularly interesting or even about one of your favourite celebrities in their autobiographies. This trick has also helped me in the past which is why this year I try to add at least 1 autobiography to my tbr so I can stay focused and take a break from the fiction world.
3. Have you ever considered you have just read too much in a short span of time! Have a short break! For a couple of days don't read and then when you go back you'll be like
' what have I been missing!!'. I like to do this from time to time so that I don't overread and get bored.
4. Look on Goodreads and see some recommendations by your friends or other book bloggers. For me, I always look at my best friends or I look at Booktuber 'BooksandLala' recommendation videos which always urge me to read more!
5. Reread your favourite book! This always does the trick as you know that you are going to enjoy it no matter what mood you are feeling!
5. Here are some books which have had me hooked in the past and my help you!
- Nerve by Jeanne Ryan
- Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
- If I Was Your Girl by Meridith Russo
- Looking For Alaska by John Green
- The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson
- The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon
I hope this helps anyone with a book block anytime soon!
