The Beautiful Book Covers Tag

For me, Book covers do play a huge part in my overall view of a book. I know we shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but if it is tacky, It just doesn't give a good vibe.
I love book covers. Looking at them makes me happy and i just think that
they do set your thought before you begin to read. So today i will be
partaking in the beautiful book covers tag.

1. Choose 5 of the most beautiful books in your collection.

All of these book covers are diverse but they all represent things I like to see in a book cover. I love bright colours and nice animations. For Replica, I like the way the cover was designed as on the opposite end its yellow with the other half of the butterfly which is gorgeous. For Divergent, those 3 birds create mystery and it just so nice looking. Tell Us Something True, What can i say? I liked how the tiny people are interacting with the cover. Also i love the colour. The last boy and girl in the world cover is awesome. Its so pretty. Lastly, The american edition of The Art Of Being Normal is so pretty. Those bright colours are really working for me. Also the fonts are really cool too.

2. Choose a beautiful book that features your most favourite colour.

This cover is just so pretty,  I love the overall design of this cover and i think it is so creative. I also think it gives you a clear message that the book will feature music references etc.

3. Choose a beautiful book that features your least favourite colour.

See covers that use gold, they actually irritate me. This is a nice book cover and it looks really pretty but for example, the new hunger games covers that are fully gold!!! No Need For That!

4. Choose your favourite cover of a classic.

I may of not rated this book very high but this cover of Alice in Wonderland is Very Pretty and aesthetic. There is something about that tree that really makes this cover stand out!

5. Choose your favourite cover of a children's book.

Gotta be Giraffes Can't Dance. I like the background of this cover but also there is a giraffe so like that gave it an extra 20 points. It basically puts forward an idea which is completely impossible!

6. Do you often buy books based solely on a beautiful cover?

I am so guilty for this its unbelievable. I love the use of colour in both of these books and to me they are very aesthetically pleasing. I totally only bought these books because they looked pretty. I couldn't tell you what the synopsis is...

7. Out of every book that you own, which book best exemplifies your idea of a beautiful book.

The Sun is Also a Star cover is just a great representation of what a good book cover should look like! This obviously has had a lot of thought put into it and it is so different from other books that we see nowadays. It is a Beautiful Book Cover.

Happy Reading All!

A Readers Worst Nightmare!!!

Three words that scar readers these days are...

A Book Block!

I myself have suffered many book blocks and it is horrible... I want to read books but I just cannot keep focus. So I thought I would share some books or tips that have helped me get out of a book block before.

1. Try reading a book which is from a popular series, this may help as you make become so enticed that you can't stop reading and want to continue until you've read all books available by that author with those exciting storylines and amazing characters. For me, The Hunger Games helped me as it really sparked my reading again after having enough and of course,  technology took over.

2. If you are reading a lot of fiction books and you just cannot read anymore, try to read a Non-Fiction. This could surround a topic you find particularly interesting or even about one of your favourite celebrities in their autobiographies. This trick has also helped me in the past which is why this year I try to add at least 1 autobiography to my tbr so I can stay focused and take a break from the fiction world.

3. Have you ever considered you have just read too much in a short span of time! Have a short break! For a couple of days don't read and then when you go back you'll be like
' what have I been missing!!'.  I like to do this from time to time so that I don't overread and get bored.

4. Look on Goodreads and see some recommendations by your friends or other book bloggers. For me, I always look at my best friends or I look at Booktuber 'BooksandLala' recommendation videos which always urge me to read more!

5. Reread your favourite book! This always does the trick as you know that you are going to enjoy it no matter what mood you are feeling!

5. Here are some books which have had me hooked in the past and my help you!
- Nerve by Jeanne Ryan
- Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
- If I Was Your Girl by Meridith Russo
- Looking For Alaska by John Green
- The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson
- The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by  Mark Haddon

I hope this helps anyone with a book block anytime soon!

My February TBR

I can't believe that it already February! I feel like we only just celebrated the new year!
This month, my most anticipated book of the year is released and I honestly cannot wait!
This month I tried to choose a selection of books that I have been wanting to read for a few months
as it is my time to enjoy these amazing titles.

Starting from the top of the pile, I will be reading Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella which is a YA fiction about a girl who doesn't leave her home but a boy could change her mind. Possible romance? I'll need to read to find out!!! Next, I have You Deserve a Drink by Mamrie Hart which is an autobiography of her life and I want to read this to find out more and her personal life as youtube doesn't show you all behind the scenes. Next up is The Last Boy and Girl in the World by Siobhan Vivian which is about a town which is going under the water and all residents have to evacuate. It focuses on Keeley  and friends and it sounds like it will be a YA Romance. My most anticipated read of 2017 is up next. All About Mia by Lisa Williamson is a YA fiction which focuses on middle child Mia who seems to get into a lot of trouble. I am going into this as a Blind Read but I'm so excited!! Finally, I will be reading Hamilton: The Revolution which is such a beautiful Book. It focuses on Hamilton's life back in the days and also gives some insight into the musical masterpiece by Lin Manuel Miranda!

I also have been approved by some publishing companies to review ARCs. I have had 5 documents sent to me and hopefully I will get through some of them this month. As you can imagine, I am very excited for this and its my pleasure to be given the right to read books in advance.

Happy February Reading Everyone!!!

The January Book Review

Wow! I've had an amazing start to my year and my reading skills have definitely improved since last year. So in this blog, I'm just going to give an overview of all the books I have completed this month and my ratings out of 5 stars. Further Reviews can be found on my GoodReads.

I Started the month off with I Know You Well by Nina LaCour and David Leviathan.
The Book follows the life of our two main characters Mark and Kate both following the Boy and Girls of their dreams. Mark wants to be in a relationship with his Best Friend Ryan while Kate is trying to pick up her nerves to talk to the girl she has learned so much about.
This had such a fun storyline and the plot was fantastic.
I gave this 4 Stars and I really did enjoy the plot but I just needed MORE!
A great start to 2017!

I then moved on to an autobiography! Buffering by Hannah Hart was my choice and it gave me
an overview of the life of a youtube and also her personal life when she was young!
This was good but I was so confused by the order of the chapters and itikinda just made me not want to continue!!!
But, I did! Her story was empowering and Iespect her as a person.
This gained 3 Stars for me and was an overall, great read.

Now, onto a book I, have been dying to read for a while!
Replica by Lauren Oliver is a YA Science Fiction Novel that follows
the life of Gemma and Lyra. This book can be read both ways by
turning it upside down which for me was an amazing element.
I decided to read it by alternating chapters which as you can see in the photo,
required me to use a lot of post it notes!
This was just an amazing read! I thought I was going to hate it
due to it being Sci-Fi but this has proved me wrong. The writing
technique was amazing and the whole idea was well thought out
and I cannot wait for the sequel.
This is my first 5 Star book of the year and has set the standards high!

Book 4 of 2017 was The Color Purple by Alice Walker which has won many
book awards all around the world! It takes us back to the life of a Women who
is a slave to a white master in the USA.
It gave us insights of what it was like for the slaves in those days and it was
a really emotional book. This was written in a unique way and I don't think I
would change it at all. The main character Celie is an inspiration and her story
has made me realise that really, my life isn't that bad!
I gave this 4 Stars and it is a really inspirational book!

My Final read of January was A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard.
This is a story which focuses on Steffi, a girl who is selective mute and her
romantic partner Rhys who is deaf. This focuses on the difficulties of both of the characters and is actually really quite inspiring as it shows some of the problems faced by people with these problems.
I gave this book 5 Stars as it was very empowering and I loved the entire story.

So this month, I am pleased to say that I read a total of 5 books, which works out to be 1623 pages which I feel is pretty good for the first month of the year! I recommend them all but especially Replica and A Quiet Kind of Thunder.

Let's see what Febuary brings...
